The Eco-products Directory is a groundbreaking APO publication that promotes the concept and practice of environmentally responsible purchasing among enterprises and consumers in the region.
The directory catalogues eco-products and –services available in the Asia-Pacific region and is published as part of the APO’s Green Productivity (GP) Program, a strategy aimed at harmonizing improved productivity with environmental protection.
The publication of each successive Eco-products Directory has coincided with the enormously successful annual Eco-products International Fair (EPIF). The directory is a business resource and guidebook to cutting-edge eco-technology from Asia and is highly sought after. The four editions published thus far have been circulated in Asia and beyond at various international events to widespread acclaim.

The Eco-products Directory 2008, the latest edition, was on display at the Environmental Showcase in the International Media Center of the G8 summit held in Hokkaido, Japan, 7−9 July. Around 500 CDs and more than 100 copies of the directory were distributed to center visitors, most of whom were senior governmental officials or representatives of international organizations, NGOs, and the media.

The CD and hard copy of the directory were also distributed during the Fourth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD IV) held in Yokohama, Japan, 28−30 May. It has also been on display in 20 lounges at Narita International Airport, Japan.
Online registration for the upcoming Eco-products Directory 2009 will start in mid-October. All companies, organizations, and associations within APO member economies presently involved in producing and promoting environmentally friendly materials, components, products, or services are invited to list them in the 2009 directory. The deadline for registration is mid-December 2008.
The 2009 edition will be released at the EPIF 2009 to be held in the Philippines, 19−22 March 2009. We are confident that the Eco-products Directory 2009 offers a great opportunity for you to disseminate your environmental and social action programs worldwide, which is another worthwhile reason for registering products and services in the directory.
